BIOGRAPHY
Singer songwriter Luke Lukess has been making a name for himself throughout Australia for more than 10 years. Starting at the age of 12, Lukess has performed 1000's of shows throughout Australia and made his international debut in 2010 in the UK.
Best known for his song writing and being the front man for his alternate rock band My Future Lies, has seen Lukess produce songs played on MTV, The Apprentice (ch9) and more recently MTV's reality series Freshwater Blue which features 6 of his tunes.
All this while constantly touring with the band, playing more than 450 live shows and sharing the stage with other bands such as The Veronicas, McFly, The Living End, Art vs Science, Short Stack & more.
Lukess has 2 full-length albums to his credit and a brand new solo ep that has been released late in 2010 entitled 'Oakdene Road'. 2011 will see Lukess add to the 34 tracks already available on itunes.
A dedicated guitarist, Lukess didn't begin singing till 2006. His ability to play all styles of guitar has landed him session work all over the world, including trips to the UK and New Zealand. Frequenting shows such as Hey Hey its Saturday, X Factor, The Today Show and Sunrise are now part of his every day life.
Lukess has also played more than 1800 shows in the cover scene as a guitarist.
Lukess, while hard working and growing more popular as his ability to write simple songs with meaning develops, has also been able to hold onto reality as an independent artist. Not yet approached by record labels, he has been staying in close contact with fans via social networking sites such as facebook & twitter.
While independent, record sales have seen his releases compete with the big boys including a number 5 spot on the Aria independent charts in 2010 for his album entitled Chasing the Moon.
2011 has seen Lukess recording with many different artists and bands. Working remotely and inhouse for some of Sydney's biggest studios and record labels, Luke's guitar playing and ability to work along side a producer is in demand.
Luke has been adopted as touring / recording guitarist for Aussie band Short Stack, recently completing an Australia tour along side USA pop punk group Good Charlotte and followed by a national tour backing the bands 2nd release 'This is Bat Country'. Luke will be joining the band in the studio for album no3.
In August 2011 Luke released a snippet of a NEW acoustic song, 'The End' hinted at being the first single for his 2nd solo release later this year.
